In a previous life, I've had meh experiences with FPH, so, agreeing to come here for a lunch meeting with my mother was a shot in the dark. I did not expect it to be packed on a Sunday, with a waitlist several names long. I did not expect to see customers taking home food. I did not expect a staff working like a well-oiled machine, keeping everything cleared, clean, and moving in the right direction. I sure as hades didn't expect an almost perfect (if slightly salty) sausage gravy and perfectly cooked thick cut bacon. The hashbrowns could be a tad crisper, but that is my personal preference. You know, it's a texture thing. The coffee is strong. There is cream and sugar always available on the table. This is a damn sight better than what I experienced 20 years ago.
